An original Pencil drawing by Paul Stowe - depicting a man with his head down whilst water (sweat?) runs down his face. I have used this drawing as my avatar on everything - my name cards, twitter profile and artfinder avatar. The drawing is probably my favourite and one I would never sell - however....... I was asked to make a one-off copy for a very persistent customer to my gallery in St. Ives. They paid their deposit and after many hours of drawing I completed this 'copy' of the 'original' which sits behind my drawing desk. Unfortunately (or fortunately) the person who commissioned the piece has money problems and cannot afford to pay the bulk of the commission price - thus I am now selling it on artfinder.

One of the most viewed and liked drawings on the internet - just google the image and you will see it everywhere, used in hundreds of journals, blogs, pinterest, instagram, facebook etc. etc. Definitely one of the drawings that has helped me become so successful.

Following a 20 year Hiatus Paul picked up his pencils again and started drawing back in 2012. Turning professional in 2016 Paul has won accolades across the globe, initially exhibiting and selling work in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand he now resides in the centre for contemporary British Art and the Tate Modern Gallery, St. Ives, cornwall.
From his open studio and commercial gallery in the town he spends hours, weeks and months drawing incredibly detailed images inspired by the plethora of artists and art in the local area.
His work is on permanent display in the www.stowe.gallery in St. Ives and with individual and corporate collections across the world.

Drawn as always on smooth Bristol Board with Faber Castell 9000 series pencils and a Tomo Zero eraser - size for this drawing is 30cm X 40cm - Time Taken c40 hours.

The drawing is being sold unframed to reduce shipping costs - however It does have a bespoke frame made specially for it - if you are interested in buying the frame also just send me a message.
