The watercolor painting “Contempt” presents a strong emotional dynamics: a woman holds a cup in which a little fairy sits, her gaze filled with contempt and condemnation. The combination of blue and red colors creates an intensity of emotion, framing a scene of cruel contempt. This work is inspired by the dark side of interpersonal relationships and the exploration of human emotions. As a creator, I sought to express the complexity of interaction, where the power of contempt shapes the structure of relationships. The audience should feel the rising tension and resentment that lies in the woman's judgmental gaze. This piece of art evokes reflection on how we affect others and how emotions can shape our relationships. The choice of watercolor as a material may be determined by the desire to convey softness and at the same time richness of emotions. The style perhaps combines realism with abstraction to emphasize emotional contrast. This work not only vividly conveys emotion, but also raises questions about the finer points of relationships and moral dilemmas.

I am a professionally trained illustrator and fine artist with about 7 years of experience in illustrations, drawings, paintings, and graphic design for promotional and educational purposes. I also produced commissioned artwork and realistic paintings for brochures, portraits, logo designs, and character creations, as well as artwork restoration from the modern day to the 15th-century creations. I also have experience copying and painting orthodox icons. I love the creative process and have been painting and drawing since a very young age, often exploring both light and heavy topics that deal with social, psychological, philosophical, and cultural issues. I left my beloved Ukraine, fleeing war, in hopes of building a new life in Canada. I am looking for full-time, part-time, or freelance work in the creative industry. I am proficient in a variety of media, including oil paint, pen, pencil, pastels, watercolors, acrylic paints, ink, and mixed media.
