About The Artwork

Work inspired by my mother's love for me and my brothers. A rose floats in water, it remains alive and beautiful despite no longer being part of the plant to which it belongs. (My mother and her struggle away from her family) The petals come off from that flower, which represents us, her children, and the years that pass. A petal on the rose has a measure of a piano song written on it that I composed for her a few years ago. My intention with this work is to generate feelings of love and gratitude for that being who gave us life. If the lover of art, flowers, and the connection with his mother feels gratitude and joy with this creation, this work has fulfilled its main objective.

Xavier Beltrán, better known as Rixlessin in the artistic fields, was born in Otavalo - Ecuador in 1979. He has been drawing since he was approximately 4 years old and he is always passionate about realistic drawing with a style that combines them with his dreams and imagination. He stood out a lot with his talent in drawing during primary and secondary school, however, although it was his wish, he could not study fine arts for financial reasons of his parents and as a consequence he created an important career as a musician, which is his other great passion. . He studied Graphic Design at the Catholic University of Ibarra, and was more widely reconnected with the world of drawing and colors when he resided in the city of Quito, years after graduating as a Graphic Designer. His training in drawing with graphite pencils and colored pencils has been mostly self-taught, through books, online courses, his own research and constant practice that, added to his talent and creativity, have resulted in his works mainly within surrealism and realistic portraits. He was a teacher of artistic drawing and guitar at the Esquivel School of Music and Arts for more than 4 years. At present he imparts his knowledge through his own Joe Satriani School of Guitar and Arts, in the city of Atuntaqui. He has also created an e-book with his method of learning the art of drawing for beginners, this e-book covers his experience within the methods to draw from scratch, still lifes and landscaping. He is currently a member of the first Ecuadorian art club, Tullpukuna. The concept of his creative works is based on his personal experiences, his worldview, his spirituality and his imagination. He considers the arts as his best language to express his emotions, ideas and dreams; with which people can identify. Although he is very open about modern art that is helped by technology, he considers that a handmade work of art has more special and deep value.
