My name is Olga Lementa.
I'm an artist based in Kyiv, Ukraine.
A biologist by training, I decided to convey my vision of beauty on paper, using the entire palette of colors that nature offers. Elegant, light watercolor and graphite helps to bring this idea to life.
My creative process is based on the study and careful analysis of plants in their ideal state and the observation of their age-related changes and imperfections.
The beauty that I see when a plant is imperfect or viewed from an unusual point of view touches my feelings and makes me paint. My observations are focused on color, texture, light and my unbearable desire to try to convey them.
I studied at the Billy Showell online school of botanical art, completed the academic course of botanical watercolor "Silent Beauty" by Kateryna Spirtus.
I participated in various master classes in botanical painting.
I work in a realistic style, in a multi-layered technique, which allows me to reflect the depth of color, textures of plants.
I am the member of the Botanical Society of Ukraine (SUBA), a member of the Association of Botanical Artists (ABA in U.K.).
I'm a participant in international exhibitions and competitions.
Now I continue to develop, try different techniques, apply for exhibitions, and learn beyond the usual.
I take pictures and many of my pictures become references for future works.
