About The Artwork
Most of my current artworks are paintings in acrylic and acrylic/mixed media. Periodically I like to return to drawing the human figure using a live model. I find that this sharpens m eye for line, mass, shape, and helps me to loosen up. Pastel is my preferred medium for drawing. This drawing is mounted on board and matted with a white acid free mat (20"L x 16"W) for your ease in using a frame of your choice to suit your surroundings. Image size is 15"L x 10"W.

Growing up in New York City was a great experience and has influenced my outlook on art and life. There was amazing access to museums and other cultural institutions and the energy of the city was always present. I have lived in California for many years now where I am close to both a major urban area and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, surrounded by incredible natural beauty. I am able to draw from many cultures for inspiration that influences my artwork, such as the Japanese concepts of wabi sabi and notan, and of haiku poetry. My series of Haiku Threads paintings reflect that influence.
