For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to the world of art and painting. I started painting at the age of four and joined an art school five years later. When I was 14 I enrolled in a four-year course at an art college in Russia which led to me graduating with diplomas in teaching and technical drawing. Following a period as an art teacher, I was invited to work for the Artists' Union of Ukraine on large-scale works that had been commissioned by the central government. At the end of the Soviet era, I began working in the private sector as a designer for a company which focused on the development of new corporate logos. On leaving the private sector in 1998 I combined being a freelance artist, painter, and designer with returning to my studies and four years later I gained a BA in Practical Psychology from the Inter-Regional Academy of Personnel Management in Kiev. I continued with my painting all the time I was working and studying and eventually moved to the Czech Republic to be nearer to galleries that had started to exhibit my paintings. As my profile increased, I was invited to exhibit in several other countries including the USA, France, Spain, Bulgaria and Croatia and I eventually had offers to exhibit in galleries in the United Kingdom which led to me moving here in 2010. My passion for art will always be strong and I am continually looking to explore working in new styles and with new mediums together with meeting other artists from around the world. To this end, I am actively seeking opportunities to work in galleries and exhibitions as a way of expanding my knowledge, experiences, and horizons. In the future, I also hope to be able to combine my love for art with my psychology degree to deliver art therapy. Thank you for taking the time to read about me. OKSANA VEBER My web is site
