Nikki the Light Unicorn Drawing

Nikki came about as a direct result of watching the movie 'Legend' over and over in my new concrete studio which was like a castle. Remote, cold and without modern amenities. There is a scene with white unicorns running amidst petals blowing in the wind and it stuck in my mind as inspiration from this fairytale along with the historical era of Europe in 1775 and the Unicorn was popular as a mystical and mythical creature of good luck. After I started this drawing with paint I started researching the unicorn and got more and more into its symbolic spiritual meaning and identifying with it metaphorically as a rare creature of light and purity. It made me happy and those who have viewed it in person always exclaim how bright and light it makes them feel. It is uplifting in a very simple way and is now part of the series 'Unicorns & Pompadours'.
