About The Artwork
Like very often in my work a female is the center. Somehow she reached this hotelroom and is undressing for night. Who are the monkeys that accompany her? Does she even know them, see them? Or are they part of some nightmare she will have later sleeping. Something puzzling, a secret, an untold story - I like to create that atmosphere in my work. The women in my stories are often lonely, although they can be accompanied by animals. The material I choose reflects the vulnerability and sensibility of my heroines - paper, watercolour, ink.
