Sunflower in a Vase Drawing

Sunflower in a Vase was inspired by the sunflowers that grew in our vegetable patch this year. Some of the sunflowers this year grew intentionally in a wild border and others came from the dropping of the seed mixture from our bird feeders. This botanical, pencil drawing was created by analysing a cut sunflower placed in a small vase in a hallway, which gave an interesting depiction of light against dark, as the rays of sunshine shone through the doorway and into the house. The second image is the reference photograph that I took before the sunflower wilted, it is a black and white photograph of the sunflower in a vase on a table in the hallway.
