The Flexible Jester Take the hand of the jester, release your indebted chains. The historical court jester was an essential figure of royal courts, noted for their intelligence, quick wit, and sharp tongue. They were allowed to speak freely on truth, without temperance and yet no fool. Contrarily today, the need to be loose or embody the jester is not always highly demanded, nor desired. This painting is a representation of the importance of flexibility in mentality; to be able to catch your own fall, to allow spontaneity, and to be unhindered when speaking of truth. As well, this is a reminder to free yourself of upright demands. There will never be an end to society’s impression of accomplishment, therefore you will always remain in a state of lack if you believe you must attain something which you do not already possess. It is a cycle that will have you forever yearning. Allowing time for spontaneity, gives way for beauty to manifest. Just as hope is lost, the jester reveals a radiant passage.
