What began as a beneficial stretch has now become a personal best strength test. She found, by removing the equal pressure approach into an unstable situation, it gave her an improved result in legs, core, ankles and butts. If she leant heavily on one of her thighs and widened the distance in her groin, the resistance needed to prevent toppling was pretty excruciating. Added to that, she rose onto her toes. The finale to this, was the uneven , non level pedestals. One of the hardest parts was to keep her posterior at approximately 90 degrees, resisting everything screaming inside to allow her to drop down into a closed knee squat. Remembering that this has to be repeated on the other side, you may ask why do it. Simple! She reckons that by using her own body weight, massive balance power, true grit and much sweat, will save hours gruelling away in a gym. She has begun practising raising the free leg with the aim of full extension. Not sure how that's going.
