About The Artwork
Copic marker drawing of a young woman on "coming of age day" in Japan, which is "Seijin Shiki" in Japanese. The women dress in traditional Japanese clothing for the ceremony. This artwork is part of my "Two Worlds" series, which shows a blending of traditional with modern. The modern part of the artwork is her Louis Vuitton handbag. I used gold gouache to paint some areas of the work which gives those parts a metallic sheen. My style is inspired by Studio Ghibli animation and traditional Japanese Woodblock prints. My signature is on the front near her feet.

I'm an Australian artist who is currently travelling abroad. I've been working as a professional artist since 2016. I have studied fine arts for many years prior to that. While in the past I worked with a wide range of mediums, I currently specialise in Copic marker drawings. In 2019 I was a finalist in the annual Copic marker award, and in 2018 I won the Bluethumb Art prize drawing category for my artwork "Smoke".
