What do you see when you close your eyes? Drawing

This drawing was created in late 2014. I decided to challenge myself and asked friends, family and followers to ask me questions - any questions - and promised to answer them with a drawing or painting. One of the questions was "What do you see when you close your eyes?" and, for some reason, I could think of nothing but pain. I found a photograph taken a couple of weeks earlier during a restless night and chose to use it to create a loose sketch of how I felt inside with my eyes closed. This was the result. Shortly afterwards I had a nervous breakdown.
