About The Artwork

Infinity is a concept that can be mind-boggling to comprehend. From the vast expanse of the universe to the intricacies of the human body, infinity is present in both. In space, infinity is evident in the endless galaxies and stars that stretch out beyond our reach. It is a reminder of the infinite possibilities and potential that the universe holds. In the body, infinity is present in the complexity of our cells and the trillions of connections that make up our brains. It is a reminder of the infinite potential that lies within us. The concept of infinity can be both humbling and empowering. It reminds us of how small we are in the grand scheme of things, yet how powerful we can be when we tap into our infinite potential. So, whether we look up at the stars or within ourselves, let us embrace the infinite possibilities that surround us and strive to reach for the infinite potential within us.

Since the 1990s, I have had the privilege of studying under the renowned French Catalan painter and sculptor, Josep Castell. During that time, I also attended a private art school from 1990 to 1993, where I focused on painting restoration. This experience equipped me with extensive knowledge of conservation painting and various materials that are not commonly used by painters, allowing me to ensure the longevity of my own artworks. For the past 25 years, I have dedicated myself to being a full-time visual artist. I reside in a small village nestled within the historically significant Cathar region known as Lesquerde. Throughout my artistic journey, I have ventured into diverse creative disciplines, encompassing abstract painting and illustration. Concurrently, I had the opportunity to contribute to the restoration of important artworks for prestigious French museums. Since 2016, I have established my studio in London, where I primarily focus on classical landscape painting. The captivating cityscape of London has become a prominent subject in my art. In addition to painting, I have also been exploring photography for the past three years. My artistic approach revolves around working in series, influenced by the current artistic climate. For instance, I draw inspiration from the Young British School, such as the works of Hirst, for my series on supernovae. I also explore abstract art influenced by the French School, particularly the Support/Surface movement. Moreover, I have been delving into character portrayals within abstract landscapes in my latest series. However, I also engage in traditional painting, encompassing portraiture (both people and animals) and landscapes. In my creative process, nothing happens by accident or uncertainty. Every aspect of my work is intentional, akin to black ink solidifying in the air, forming intricate patterns as it interacts with the currents. My paintings encapsulate a sense of approximate descent, a fall shaped by the chance that bestows harmony upon them. While acknowledging the influence of Delaunay, I incorporate disruptive elements like colorful circles into my artwork. I also draw inspiration from the symbolic colors of Boleslas Biegas, the forms of Poliakoff and Andre Lanskoy, and many other artists whose works I have closely studied in my studio. Additionally, the reliefs of Zao Wou Ki and the abstraction found in the paintings of Roger Edgar Gillet have profoundly impacted my artistic development.
