About Me — My Artistic Journey

My name is Elena Herttuainen. I am a Finnish self-taught artist working in contemporary abstract art and the creator of Hertta Art.

My artistic journey has developed intuitively. From an early age, I felt a deep connection to art, although for many years creativity remained my personal space, existing alongside my studies, work, and family life. Today, I dedicate myself fully to art, developing my practice through self-discovery, experimentation, and sincerity.

Texture has been an important part of my artistic journey for many years. I have been creating relief artworks for a long time. When texture materials were difficult to find, I experimented with what was available and created my own textures. Later, as the choice of materials became wider, I began using professional texture products.

My first paintings were very large — I created them for my own home. They still bring me joy today, which is why relief is much more than just an artistic technique for me. It is an important part of my creative journey.

Over time, I discovered the diverse world of contemporary art. Its diversity inspired me to explore different artistic directions and develop my own creative language through experimentation.

Here you will find works created at different stages of my artistic journey and in different techniques: three-dimensional relief painting, Fluid Art, acrylic painting, digital art, and photography collected over many years.

I trust my intuition and allow myself to experiment with forms, colors, materials, and techniques, looking for unexpected combinations and new ways of expressing myself.
