Sexual polymorph, a Greek god who loved to watch his reflection in the water was named after it. A radial symmetry, carrying an ellipsoid to subglobose fruit, a polyploid chromosome, this is a lot to carry for such popular flower. Yet it does so with grace and elegance. And it gives us a spicy fragrance too. Narcissus originated in the Mediterranean basin but it can be found today almost everywhere.
