Five different overlapping spaces are represented in this piece. 〇Base colour 〇 Borders 〇 Stripes 〇 Panel surface 〇 The positions of the circles suggest each different spaces, and the motifs are placed between them. When we stand in front of the painting, we can see all the spaces simultaneously. We can't cross dimensions with our physical bodies, so I draw butterflies as a substitute for the quanta, moving freely between micro-dimensions as if they were us. The sphere is the core. CORE=system device, CPU, planetary core, atom, brain, etc... it's up to the viewer's interpretation. There are two black squares in the work, one is deliberately glittered to make it easy to find, and it's given a dazzling role to hide the other. The main motifs are the core and the hidden black square. I have my own concept for the work, but the identity of the black square, the correlation between the motifs and the overall interpretation are left to the viewer. Black Square is a famous painting by Kazimir Malevich. He said it evokes the experience of pure non-objectivity, and some people describe it as the zero point of painting. I think it's a very cosmic (also Zen-like) piece that expands from nothing to everything with the pure strength and pressure of black colour. Before Malevich, Robert Fludd also drew a black square with a similar philosophy. A square is one of the ultimate forms whether it's black or white. It occurs neutral sensations and a kind of trans state is induced. The black squares in my work incorporate part of Malevich's and Fludd's intentions with my own purpose. ※ As the panel is cradled and the edges are painted, it can be hung without a frame. However, I recommend framing to protect the artwork. ・Acrylic on wood panel (Unframed) ・Finished with satin varnish ・Signed and sealed on the back ・Size A1 ・Made in 2023

A.H. Born in Shimane, Japan The basic theme of my work is 'dimensional space' which includes the space we exist. What is our space made of ? How do things become real and how does the system work ? I construct the diagrams into art on a flat surface that come to my mind when I'm thinking about these things. My main purpose in making art is to think to myself while I'm constructing and to embody it with my hand.
