About The Artwork

‘A Furrowing Descend’ is a work from my Serenity series, where I experiment in looking at movement of form - influenced by the ideas of biomorphism, light, natural form adaption and movement. The use of a circle here as a base shape can be interpreted in varied concepts. Some viewers reflect upon it becoming a microscopic lens to seeing natural formations while others see it as a reminder for a play on ancient religious tondo artworks. There is a sense of tension that can be seen releasing from one side of the work to the other. As well as the potential of the under-colours of the panel showing through as if the paint is somewhat translucent in itself revealing what is underneath.

In my practice as a conceptual artist, I explore the intricate relationship between artwork and viewer interpretation, delving into how each individual's experiences and memories shape their understanding of the pieces I create, provoking reflection. I have a keen focus on the dynamic interplay of movement, form, and light. I invite viewers to engage with their own perceptions and interpretations is a priority within what I create.
