The work: Texture of Time is a passage between generations. The portraits of Stéphanie DAVERDON are witnesses of our time between nostalgia and modernity. It forces us to postpone our relationship to time and to position ourselves in front of others, in front of events. Thus, she first creates a background where colors and materials collide and break up. Then the materials mingle with the ink to redefine the contours of the portraits. Stéphanie then lets herself be guided in her gestures to obtain the desired effects. She snatches, glues, weaves or undresses, paints, sculpts materials to obtain the funds of her works A Perfume of Freedom? is directly inspired by John William Waterhouse’s painting. The Victorian women in England had a special place. They had the right to vote. Stéphanie DAVERDON takes inspiration from this subject and transposes it into her universe with her own codes and rules. This "taste for freedom" and this intellectual emancipation of women are transcribed in it by aplats of matter. Emotions are not only in the drawing that is freed from the frame but they are expressed through the effects of moiré and gold. The postage stamp, the thread thread of the Texture of Time series, is floral, light, and sent to us to always remind us to appreciate this freedom.

French painter and visual artist, I was born in 1975 in Germany. I live today in France in a village in the heart of the vineyards of Champagne, on the banks of Marne. After a childhood and a teenage itinerant, related to the paternal profession, a young bride, I settled in Paris during twenty years. Since 2012 we have moved to the province where I find peace of the countryside with my family. Art has always had in me an intense resonance and to paint was as an obvious fact. My artistic influences turn essentially towards abstract expressionism and impressionism with a special affection for the work of Joan Mitchell and Claude Monet. My painting expresses and reveals what I share with the outside world, inspired by its strength and fragility. I have fun with the materials and colors to give my works several dimensions. In my pictures, I depict the poles of human existence and perception, including the unconscious. My technique will evolve all these years in order to transcribe through my plastic work what I deeply believe in: ART as a realization of Self.
