About The Artwork

A Summer composition is created with gentle gestural strokes and soft color tones, giving it S. Mangelsen's very personal touch of rhythm and finesse. In its simplicity of an understated, subtle palette of green, beige, blue and rosé tones, combined with the energy of the brush, it embraces a dialogue toward lightness, minimalism and an atmosphere of a light summer breeze. The structured surface and a shimmering element of gold (paint) add to the atmosphere. Signed, dated on the back, colored entirely on the edges. Framed with a natural basswood frame and ready to hang. Black metal steel frame on request possible. High quality acrylic technique on gallery quality canvas and wooden stretched frames, carefully protected by special varnish to guarantee a long life and protect the painting from UV rays and dust. Worldwide Shipping.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Sophie Mangelsen creates her very own and characteristically gestural abstractions, giving them her very personal touch of elegance, rhythm and finesse, all in a Berlin understatement vibe. Her informal art appeals to introspection and evokes an inner and outer dialogue with the viewer - posing questions about consciousness and unconsciousness, harmony and disharmony, balance and imbalance - to inner landscapes of the complexity of our mind. Sophie Mangelsen, from Berlin, is additionally inspired on her journey by her experience as a psychologist and therapist. She studied at the Université Paris VIII and the University of Leipzig and found her form of expression in painting already in her youth. Her paintings are shown at international exhibitions and are in private collections around the world. In 2022 she was invited as a jury member in the international competition of BALTHASART. The artist lives in Berlin Kreuzberg.
