[Artist Statement] Artistic intent is a travel and fantasy expected to lead our reality to a more enriching life. People sometimes look at the same landscape and see different things. This is probably because we often look at things unwittingly with a certain intention. The intentionally of human beings to seek meaning in life is what makes us discover beauty and style in everyday scenes and explore unfamiliar worlds in the relationships with others. Art begins where these intentions and imaginations meet. I hope that the works presented here reflecting my journey into my inner fantasy and the scenes encountered along the paths will lead each viewer to a find the meaning of his/her life from the reality of mundane daily life. The works presented here share the basic concept of a journey into inner fantasy and the scenes encountered along the paths. Accordingly, journey, nature and color are important elements of this series. The paintings were intended to appear as spaces existing somewhere between abstraction and representation, the real world and the unreal world. The scenery in a forest, trees, flowers or plants are ordinary materials, but unrealistic fabrications are added over them to create dreamy and unusual landscapes. I was able to feel a sense of freedom from nature, which lifted away all kinds of psychological pressures and stresses for a while. I wanted to capture that strange sensation that felt like walking in a fantasy world, that sense of freedom I enjoyed for a while, in the works of Scenes from the Fantasy World. I hope the viewers will be able to experience the special feelings and sense of otherness of traveling an uncharted world through my works in Scenes from the Fantasy World.
