Natures forms sway to the analogous designs whereas man-made ideas are predominantly based upon the digital or logical. These paintings are in some way an exploration of the space between these two forms of visual imagery. Analogue woodland - Coded bands or Logic, factory... I paint this images because I was a computer repair engineer, but now I am not.

Ivan Thudd was born in Northampton, England, in 1968, and aspired to be an artist from an early age. Aged sixteen, the 80s workaday world demanded ‘get a real job’, sideswiping his youthful passion and skill in painting and drawing with a career that apparently saved him from being a starving artist. Ivan became a computer repair engineer. Today, after graduating with a first-class BA honours award in Fine Art Painting and Drawing, his work reflects a disdain of windowless factories fixing computers through the abstraction and distortion of landscape painting. Now, following a serious heart attack, Ivan is seeking a means to make sense of time and place where the workaday world is both a source of longing and of frustration. The tranquillity of nature's scenery, decimated by his abstractions and often irrational yet hidden talent of a lifelong dream.
