VIEW IN MY ROOM
About loss is a large painting where a young girl wearing a mask, stands by the death body of a deer. Death animals represent the concept of irreversible loss in my work. I use spraypaint and Chinese ink on paper for this kind of work. One of my favorite mediums as used also in the inked series.

I've worked as a systemic psychotherapist, sports/life/adventure coach and musicteacher at different stages in my carreer. The common thread is that I have always produced art in the form of drawings, paintings, photographs and video. Half a century young and a load of experience to rely on, I've chosen to invest my time fully in this direction. Two years ago, life forced me to stand still. A long period of recovery and wandering through Europe brought me to Spain, where I got fascinated by street-artists in Valencia and Malaga. This was the starting point to pick up work. Human interest is central in my work. Emotions of all kinds unite us. Beyond cultural limitations and conditionned ways to react, we all feel sadness, anger, joy and exaltation under certain circomstances or crisis. Themes evolve. For the moment 'loss', 'solitude', 'revolte', 'connection', 'love',... are very present. I like to work with a variety of media, express myself in different series to point out a topic that puzzles or touches me particullary. Like the loss of the natural world, the growing solitude in a world where the ways to connect have never been more present, the cancer of polarisation, the limitations contemporary culture inflicts on our lives, and so much more... G.Aka Mira is my artist name, Gaka meaning painter in Japanese, Mira being a 'miller'. My real name means miller, so G.aka Mira means, Painter, also known as the Miller. I hope you connect with some of my work and am looking forward to hear your feedback. Welcome in my world. G.Aka Mira
