About The Artwork
A painting of a horse and pony, on a cold damp February morning. I am lucky enough to live and have my studio near horses, and they provide a constant source of inspiration. On this day, the rain had just stopped but it was so cold and grey. I was attracted by the horse's red coat, a vibrant contrast to the grey winter's day. I like the way horses hang out together too. This is painted using Golden acrylics on a gesso board. The painting is protected with 2 coats of Golden UV matt varnish and can be simply hung on 2 wall mounted screws. Also suitable for framing.

I am an artist based in Gloucestershire, UK but originally from Perthshire, Scotland. I have been fortunate to exhibit in some prestigious institutions including Royal Academy, London, RWA, Bristol and RSA, Edinburgh. I trained in Fine Art Drawing and MFA Painting and have literally been drawing my whole life. My proudest achievement is having my ink drawing 'Ghoul School' in the permanent collection of Prints and Drawings at The British Museum. I was also delighted to receive 'Finest Drawing' award at the National Open Art Competition in 2013.
