Abstract painting of Rural Georgia with trees and hills This is an abstracted view of an afternoon drive through middle Georgia. The fields seem to be made of geometric "tiles" - even in the places there are hills and trees, the land just divides itself into beautiful abtracted shapes. The painting has both thin "watercolor" like areas and thicker painted areas reminiscent of oil painting. I love the contrasts in texture that emphasize the contrast in land types without distracting from the overall painting composition. The work was painted on canvas which has been attached to a treated birch wood panel stained a dark walnut brown to complement the painting. It is ready to hang, including hardware, though it could be professionally framed if you prefer.

I was once traveling with a close friend, photographing everything in sight, as any tourist does. I asked him, "Don't you want to take any photos?" My art is about remembering things . . . in my own way . . . and "disremembering" everything else. A native of Fort Worth, Texas, my artistic career began at an early age when I began painting with my mother on Sunday afternoons.
