A glimpse into the old ways. The village reminds us of how it was hard: to make a living, to go to sea everyday, but they also remind us of how things were beautiful; How the community came together, how we celebrated the joys of others. In today's world we spend much of our time looking forward, but perhaps it is just as necessary to look back, and remember. This piece is reminiscent of our traditional fishing villages, in Portugal, North Africa or along the Mediterranean coast. Painted using acrylic and India ink on high quality canvas with a UV protective varnish finish, there is a sense of timelessness about it. Unmounted canvas that can easily be placed under a frame.
