About The Artwork
Europe's north. The hidden secrets of Norway's Arctic, the midnight sun and its awesome natural landscapes. A reminder of clean air, where colours and contours come alive, where nature thrives and where we truly feel part of a grandeur sense of being. With this painting I’m trying to capture the silent whispers of the Arctic. A painting done in ink and acrylic on canvas with a UV protective varnish. The work is signed on the front and back of the canvas. My brushstrokes echo the rugged textures of this untamed landscape, inviting a sense of wonder. The landscape depicted is reminiscent of the Lofoten Islands, a particularly splendid and mystical part of the Arctic. A wave of my childhood memories in Canada resurged after 2 months spent in this glorious nordic country. The speed at which our natural environments are changing is palpable. I hope to inspire others to celebrate these untouched corners of our world.
