At the mercy of the light Painting

My initial intention in this work was to portray a feeling of surrender in which the person finally allows herself to be carried away by something superior to reason. This painting is representative of the work that I have been doing this last year 2021 regarding the theme of light as an important part of the story told by the work. About technique, sometimes I work more directly, but I tend to use, as in this work, a layered methodology and mixed technique, in which a very realistic acrylic infra-painting is created on which the following phases They include other materials as requested by the work itself at all times. In this case, the first layer was made in an acrylic grisaille, taking care of the textures to give volumes. The second layer introduced the oil and completed the detail of the chest and face as realistically as possible. Later I added successive fluid washes of oil to provide a certain atmosphere of surrender and at the same time soften parts of the figure so that the expression of the face takes centre stage. Finally, I added using pastel the part in colour, representative of an intangible guide that could be intuition, desire, or inspiration. My idea was to use a colour that stood out from the grisaille and gave prominence to that light. This painting is 40 per 50 cm, framed.
