Autumn Girl Painting

John Mould was born in 1958 and grew up in the small village of Barlaston in Staffordshire. As a child, John’s fascination for animals grew with him, and this close contact with animals that led John to start drawing and eventually painting wildlife, striving for accuracy. A chance request to paint a friend’s favourite racing pigeon of all things, gained John that initial recognition for his natural talent which eventually set him on the road to artistic enlightenment Living just a stone throw from Wedgwoods famous factory at the age of nineteen with an every growing reputation John produced artworks for many pottery manufactures including Wedgwood, Spink, Coalport, Gordon Frazer and Waterford. Today Johns passion has developed from animal paintings to creative and imaginative portraiture. He has developed a unique style captivating the ethereal realm that exists at the delicate confluence of reality and dreams. It is an embodiment of contemporary fantasy, where the familiar meets the fantastical. The artist has masterfully blended elements of the known world with the mysterious allure of dreamscapes, creating a visual symphony that invites the viewer to question the boundaries of their perception. The use of vibrant colours and fluid shapes intertwines to form a composition that is both grounding and liberating.
