About The Artwork
The Grumman TBF Avenger was actually manufactured by General Motors as a torpedo bomber for the Navy from 1942 until the 1960's. It was powered by a 1900 horsepower Wright Twin Cyclone, fourteen cylinder radial engine and utilized a mechanized folding wing system to maximize storage space onboard aircraft carriers. The dramatic angle shows the Avenger's lines as the powerful plane seems to be flying out of the paper! Look out for that propeller!

I began drawing when I was about five years old. I can remember how fascinated I was with fingerpaints and how the colors blended as I smeared my hands through the greasy paints.
