Katy Hawkins is a contemporary painter whose work explores the beauty and complexity of the natural and human world through oil, acrylic, pencil and ink. Trained formally in fine art, she combines classical technique with a modern sensibility, creating evocative works that balance realism and expression.
Working primarily in oils, Katy paints figures, landscapes, and animals, often drawing inspiration from direct observation and personal experience. Each piece reflects a deep appreciation for light, texture, and atmosphere, capturing both the physical presence and emotional resonance of her subjects.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from George Mason University where she studied traditional painting methods and art history. This academic foundation informs her approach to composition, color, and form, while an ongoing curiosity continues to drive experimentation and growth.
Katy has exhibited in local and international galleries and her work can be found in private collections. Through her art she invites viewers to pause, observe, and reconnect with the natural rhythms and quiet narratives that often go unnoticed in everyday life.
