About The Artwork
After meeting and spending time with an eclectic character from Finland, I began to experience a luminous attachment to images in my dreams about my own Nordic ancestry. I was raised to rely on myself and as a child knew this to be true as far back as I can remember. As result I was a wee girl who became isolated inside my own thoughts. My mind was rich in imagery and colour, while I did not speak outwardly to my hopes and dreams for the future. There was no cause to paint a mouth on this face. Message: Awareness of attachment to others is key to opening the door of knowing your true place in this world, for no human is an island. Cling to what is luminous in yourself, in others, and in life itself, never forgetting your positive attachment to the highest good. This painting has been sealed with a satin finish. The canvas profile is .75" deep and painted black.

For me, painting brings inspiration and joy to a world that can feel superficial and futile. My goal is to release the essence of my eternal experiences into the physical realm. To exaggerate colours, tones, and proportions in a way that reflects how my soul perceives raw, unfiltered beauty. Having faith and painting is my humble way of expressing gratitude for my gift of creativity. My style is on the spectrum between Abstract, [with all of its versatile geometrical structures] and the ‘less rigid’ whimsical delight of Anything Goes Expressionism, using linear and curved structures, multi-coloured schemes and vividly brilliant colours.
