About The Artwork
Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang. Signed on the front. This artwork comes with an external black timber frame. This painting is a tribute to my late friend Leonard Cohen and a song he wrote known as "Bird on the Wire". I knew Leonard from Hydra island, Greece where he wrote this song in the 1960s. The silhouette is Leonard. I used a page on "Eggs of Central European Song-Birds" from Chambers's 1924 Encyclopaedia as a reference. I like to mix surface textures. The numbers relate to important dates in Leonard's life. This painting was exhibited in RECLAIM August 2022 at Newcastle Art Space (NAS) NSW, Australia.
