Collage made with paper shopping bags and acrylic on wood, ready to hang or frame, as you like.

This artwork is part of a new line called 'RECYCLING THE SYSTEM'. It's a line based on recycling used objects to become beauty for everyday. It's my contribution to live in a more sustainable world. We are surrounded by used objects and packagings that will go to the garbage if nobody uses them again for something useful like art.

This artwork is part of a series called 'BLACK FRIDAY' where I want call attention about massive consumption of fashion . Packaging, labeling, bags are all items with no use after wearing the garment for first time. Look for conscious brands using eco materials and production systems to reduce impact. These products and elements are attractive when you buy them but imagine if you don't need them to buy the garment. Just the product. Or mind if you can buy less each year, just what you need, not vanity buying.

This artwork is made wit shopping bags I've been collecting since ten years ago every time I bought a garment or received as a gift. I have a big amount of them and will be part of several artworks. They are real shopping bags of fashion from around the world as I'm design passionate and my previous professional career was Creative Director for sport fashion brands. Now I decided to live with less things, and more wellbeing.

The style for this artwork is Pop as something related to urban and street culture. The colors are light pink for background and lilac, purple and gold for drops.

ARTIST STATEMENT AND BIO Creating art it’s my purpose of contributing to make the world a little better every day, surrounding ourselves with beauty that makes us feel good. The nature is nutrition to my work. Especially the horizon line of the sea, the mountains, trees, wood, snow and sun. All these elements are essential for me and they are life itself, I believe in sustainability as a way of life and I also apply it to my work as much as it’s possible. But the external beauty of nature is visible to everyone, I’m not interested to represent reality with painting. Now I’m interested on inner sight and I’m focus to express the beauty of human inner nature. Share this with the observer and establish an open dialogue with him and his emotions at the same time. This is the purpose of ‘Inner horizons’ series. On this artworks I bring light to the darkness creating spaces of light recorded in our emotional memories. I look for the light that makes visible the horizon line of our inner emotional landscapes. Finally, gold paint over is the expression of the sublime and spiritual experience. The canvas for this purpose is made by order specially for me. I created it based on my experience on textile design, with organic cotton and yarn dyed with Indigo pigment. Then I paint in negative with acid medium taking away Indigo pigment from canvas. This creates an hyper effect of depth because all white appears from yarn. Born 1972 in Barcelona, Jordi now lives and works as an artist in the city, and spend some time often in the Pyrenees to get inspired by nature. Growing up in a home with his maternal grandfather working on wood crafts and his mother working as dressmaker, he developed an interest in handworks and creativity at a young age. The paintings of his artist cousin did a big impact on him too. Those influences, together with his high aesthetic sensitivity, have always led him in the artistic direction and creativity in everything he does. He trained as a graphic designer and has devoted more than twenty years to art direction and creativity in the field of business, till reach the position of executive in a multinational company of fashion market. This has led him to travel around the world and accumulate a broad global vision of creativity and business vision and education as well as of different socioeconomic situations.
