I formulated a background in yellow oxide and a paint mixture of ivory black and painted lines with a quarter inch flat brush.

One objective was to illustrate a mythical figurehead lost in her voluminous hair. The surface is vibrant, and rich with subtle textures like a heavy carpet, varying in amounts of sheen.

Another objective was to contemplate, yet employ a certain spontaneity in, complex decision-making: creating the appearances of wave-forms, turbulence, integrals, and the formation of knots.

Finally, almost principally, was the exercise in tedium, and repetition, using a minimal amount of material: black paint, canvas, and trying to paint a large area composed entirely of painted black line.

Another objective was to contemplate, yet employ a certain spontaneity in, complex decision-making: creating the appearances of wave-forms, turbulence, integrals, and the formation of knots.
