This dynamic little panel is bursting with expressive optimism. I chose various shades of blue combined with bold gestural strokes and collage elements to bring you a textured piece. This is happy and hopeful. Blue Optimism.

My current work is driven by my interest in the restorative power of beauty and how it is perceived. I am asking the question: Does the world embody beautiful ideas? What is symmetry, what is the memory of a beautiful feeling, how does that relate to mortality and anxiety? My work is by no means an answer but an exploration of the questions. within my compositions you will find a variety of abstracted natural elements because we contain horizons, storms, gardens, vacant buildings, flowers, animals and faces and new beginnings within us. When we honour them we can come into rhythm in our own lives. Nature is my cathedral, it is where I find inspiration. Synnöve was born in Toronto, Canada and has lived in rural Ontario, British Columbia and currently lives in Montreal Quebec. She had an extensive an early education in fine arts and pursued studies in art history and philosophy at the University of Toronto. Synnöve returned to painting in 2010. Her current mixed media work is self taught. Synnöve’s work has been exhibited at galleries in Toronto and British Columbia. She has exhibited twice with the Artist Project in Toronto and The Other Art Fair in Los Angeles.
