ABOUT THE ARTWORK
With this piece I am exploring range of themes from absence and presence, to balance and disruption. To make this piece I threaded linen yarn through a loom to keep each thread tight and formatted, then I painted the yarn with an abstract image and then the painted yarns were woven into a solid canvas. The canvas is stretched like a painting. The geometric patterning is caused by the action of weaving the painted yarns.
