About The Artwork

The idea of this painting came to me when we were traveling along a highway and I saw an old semi-destroyed factory and an abandoned carousel next to it. I have no idea how the last one could arrive their however for some reason it had a strong impact on me. This painting represents our possible future: people leaving in a half-ruined cities and only these kind of “ghost” carousel reminds them about old happy times. For this work I’ve used high quality professional watercolors and 100%cotton heavy paper.

I was born and raised in Russia. After the PhD graduation in scientific area I moved to Italy where I live to this day. Like every child I loved painting and dreamed to attend classes at the art school, but obviously my parents had a different idea regarding the after-school activity. So for years I has been painting occasionally convinced that without the graduation from an art school I have no chance to create anything worth to show. Only few years ago, when my scientific career stopped due to the birth of my first child, I started to explore watercolor more seriously, initially as a self-taught and then by attending classes and webinars at a Russian online art school. When I discovered the art of the famous English watercolor painter Jean Haines there was the real breakthrough in my art journey. She has helped me to discover the joy to create with watercolors and her art has an important impact on my art style. So I’ve become a true watercolor addicted and since then painting is an important part of my life and personality. I really enjoy the process of painting because I love watching watercolor running around and mixing! I love experimenting with different watercolor products to enrich my paintings. I love bold, brilliant shades which permit me to fill the paintings with positive energy and joy!
