About The Artwork
What/who inspired the work? - The beauty of the carnivals from Venice and Brazil. What do I hope its viewers will feel/think? - A sense of exuberant beauty and cheer that temps those who experience the wonder that is Carnaval. Why did i choose the medium, subject matter, style? - The medium is mostly oils, for its capacity to create a bit of realism, and a bit of acrylics in the mask aria to show the expressive colors and textures. The subject I chose not only for the beauty but also the closeness to my Latin american culture. The style is an experiment of what i call Integralism, a new style I'm developing.
