Chief Lake, just north of Silver Pass in the middle of the John Muir Trail. One of my all time favorite places. It takes a rather major commitment of hiking in wilderness to get there. On this day I couldn't believe how hot it was for such high elevation. I kicked back for the entire afternoon and just watched the sparkles on the water....
