About The Artwork

Abstract painting on soft cotton, I used acrylic and ink. It bubbles in my head and grab a brush or pencil and paint and draw straight lines and circles color them in, and a painting is created. I usually use acrylic ink and water-based oil paint. I make paintings and hang them which then form a continuous exhibition of Art-Deco1920-1930 I have used acrylic because it’s a nice medium for painting. Packed between two layers of wood to protect the painting during transport. Weight painting 3,4 kg, Ready to hang, signed on the back of the painting. Size :H 100 cm x W 100 cm x D 4 cm

My name is Peggy Scholte and I was born in Balikpapan (Indonesia) on 28th of May 1952. When I was 2 years old we moved to the Netherlands by boat and grew up in a little town in Noord-Brabant. When I was a child, and even now as a grown up, I could spend hours and hours with only a pencil and paper. I drew my own fantasy world, which fascinated me so much, that I forgot about the real world around me. But then the time came to grow up, so I chose a carreer in health care. In my spare time I have always been painting and creating things in a way which allowed me to put my thoughts on a canvas. Because I wanted to know more, I decided to take painting lessens from Lie van Oosterhout. She taught me about the deeper meaning behind a painting. I started with aquarelle and later worked my way into the finer oil-painting. After that Jan Michielsen, a well-known painter from Breda and Jacomijn den Engelsen from ‘De Nieuwe Veste’ in Breda, taught me to take my paintings to a higher level. Over the years I have done several competitions. In 2008 I even became first in the Talens competition in Breda. I have also appeared in many exhibitions, for example in the CODA museum in Apeldoorn and the National Art Days in Rotterdam. 3 years ago I even had my own exhibition in 'De Steenfabriek' in Gilze, the little town where my life in the Netherlands started.
