Crystal River Morning Painting

I live close to the Gulf of Mexico and access it through the Crystal River in Florida. In fact, I own a bay boat and dock it at a marina on Crystal River. One summer morning I went to the boat with plans to go fishing. The weather looked good, low winds, warm temperatures with a chance of storms. As I pulled out of the marina I looked to the north and saw a few clouds billowing up. The tide was high and filled the marsh across the river. Tall palms guard the river's edge. I took several photos that become source material for this painting. I love water, sky and lowland scenes. A combination of brushwork and palette knife using oil paint brought this image to life. Just enough realism with a touch of impressionistic flair leads to a painterly approach that I hope you could enjoy.
