About The Artwork
One of my series of paintings of the Sussex (England) coast, this is part of the sea defence on the Cuckmere, below the famous coastguard cottages. Savagely attacked by the sea it is eroding rapidly leaving beautiful colours and shapes draped in brightly coloured fishing nets. Using highly textured paint to reflect to corroded surfaces I imbue the surface with movement and colour. One of a series labelled BRotS after op artist Bridget Riley - the stripes reflecting her work - Bridget Riley of the Shingle. This is BRotS#22
