About The Artwork

As you may have noticed in some of my previous work, I love angels. So, I wondered: Guardian Angels? How would I make this one work? How do I show an "active" guardian angel? What do they do? I have a very good friend of mine who loves to dance. I see her dance on a regular basis, and That gave me an idea. A guardian Angel could be someone who is a Partner, but in a deeper, unconscious way. I applied my pastels on the paper at first, in a random set of colors from yellow to red (orange and pink too). Then I took my paints, and applied it on the paper with the thickest paintbrush I own, and painted on top of the pastels in a think, uneven layer. After working out the position I liked and how big it would go on the page, I sketched the outlines in 2H. I used my scalpel to scrap the paint off and reveal the angel. I kept thinking that the walls of all buildings and paintings on walls have a great texture to show the time that passes. I wanted a reference to that in the Angel: a "creature" of unknown lifespan and origins, a mythical being there without being there... The woman was a lot more straight forward. I decided to not have too many details that would ruin it, so I mostly went with lines here and there.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My name is Lolita and I am a Contemporary Painter. I get my inspiration from things I see and hear and read. I have a very wide imagination and my subjects aren't always real. When I walk through the streets of London, I see invisible bridges that wizards cross, children running after pixies and men and women chatting to animals beside them. I paint many subjects and work in different styles. To add to my -sometimes wild - imagination, I am also a strong believer of Achievement and Empowerment. Heroes may be flawed, but as I read somewhere before "perfect is boring" (I can't quite remember who said it, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for that). So, you may notice in my work that I create achievement through an idea or a story, a sense of Self-Belief and Greatness.
