About The Artwork
The painting is inspired by a visit in Tulum, Yucatan (Mexico) and the sad story of the Maya people there. On a beach walk I felt their life in the old buildings, pyramides, temples and they ask me why the Spanish have destroyed the fantastic culture. I can see nobody but I'm not alone on the beach. The shadows are with me and touching me. Can you feel it? Oil on canvas is the best medium for me to show a world in motion.
