"Dinner" (composition №14)

To get together at the dinner table, to talk a lot about everything in the world, but still manage to say nothing that really matters.

The artwork is painted in a unique author's technique, using a plastic card and, in the case of this particular picture, a pancake spreader. Paint is rubbed into a thin multi-layer film, creating a complex colorful pattern that gives the finished painting a multi-dimensional depth and saturation, rhythm and direction, that makes the paint “glow”, and the viewer’s eye — unconsciously feel movement of an artist hand.
This one of a kind original art piece will decorate the wall space in an office and a meeting room, create a special atmosphere in a modern restaurant, perfectly fit a contemporary interior in your home — living and dining rooms, hallways, kitchen and bedrooms, adding a little bit of a scandinavian spirit.

Color palette of the artwork consists of several colors, they are: black, white, red, gold, blue, sienna.
Medium acrylic impasto and textured paint surface are both distinctive features of this art piece.

Linen canvas (cut, stretched and primed by the artist) and acrylic paints. Coated with an archival-quality varnish. Mounted on a stretcher frame.
Painted with plastic cards and the other tools.
Full image size is 73 x 53 centimeters.

Galina Khabarova is a contemporary abstract artist who lives and works in Stavropol, Russia. Born in Dushanbe (Tajikistan, then a part of the USSR) Galina was surrounded by art at an early age: her father took interest in metal stamping, wood carving, sculpture and photography, constantly inviting home his friends — local artisans and artists — to work together and discuss art. In the early 90’s, Galina moved with her parents to Russia, where her family settled in Stavropol. She was lucky to have a school and teachers who tried to give many new skills and strongly supported the passion for art in their pupils, teaching them new art techniques. After graduating from the Institute in 2004 with a degree in Advertising, Galina became a professional photographer, graphic designer and commercial illustrator. Galina’s interest in calligraphy, with special preference to the expressive calligraphy with a cola pen helped to develop confident firm strokes and the method of working with paint by rubbing it, determining her future painting style. In 2017,she started painting. Galina’s favorite technique is “rubbing” paint strokes into a dense multi-layer film, that creates a complex colorful pattern giving the finished painting a multi-dimensional depth and saturation, rhythm and direction, making the paint “glow” and the viewer’s eye unconsciously feeling movement. A favorite working tool is an ordinary plastic card. The artist also uses many other tools, both traditional (palette knife, brush) and unusual (pancake spreader). Galina actively takes part in exhibitions — local, national and international, and continues to develop and expand her artistic style constantly searching for new ways and methods of applying paint to different surfaces, while keep telling her story to viewers through the painting.
