About The Artwork
‘Fallout’ is a mixed media work on paper. The palette is made up of pale greens, yellow, and slate, with occasional highlights of red, rust and pink. There is surface tension: paint blobs, stains, splatters and spillages, an inked-in boot print, bled colours and definite pencil markings. Some painterly marks are given added dimension with shading. Centre-right, a paragraph of yellow letters, shadowed by lime reads: “There’s been fallout. Real hard love turned to hate. Garbage strewn across a black bonnet. All those dinners, broken things, before the little Italian. Early doors, no keys, no nails. Shelling and shit wasting”.
