February the 18th, 2014 Painting

In the age of information society there is no linearity of eternal past. Synchronism and polysemanticism dictate the present reality. Technologies create phantom world where we lose connections with nature, having a sort of foolish hope that Cartesian statement on human dominance over the nature is true. Through the means of painting, installation and new media, I build vulnerable bridge between nature and new world of technologies. My works are ingrained in the everyday. I explore lost illusions, fear of life and death, forsakenness and loneliness behind gadgets blue screens. Who are we in this permanent flow of information? Did we lose connections with wild life forever? Technological utopia in today’s globalized society promises life that cannot be delivered offline. Behind the screen we stand alone with our phobias in the unknowable world.
