About The Artwork
Mixed media on canvas. This painting is created with combine technique of decollage and acrylic. The essence of my work is the spontaneity of the painting gesture, which I develop in its basic forms. This approach can also be reflected in the work "Float", where reduced means of expression support the irony of the depicted figure. The image is created by play between the background and the foreground, and the composition is defined by the brush stroke. The central actor of the painting is a figure who lies on float or is covered by it. It floats on the sea or floats in space. Its schematic representation offers various interpretations, but the feeling of lightness of the figure remains unambiguous. The lightness of the situation and humor remain the basic pillars of the work. Paintings of these dimensions are shipping rolled in tubes without stretcher bars. Rolled paintings can easily be restreched.

Mgr. art Karin Langová - painter, visual artist. Author is currently based in Bratislava, Slovakia, where she has finished master's degree at Academy of fine art and design. During her studies she spent one semester at École supérieure d´art et de design Le Mans in France. In her paintings she reflect the outer and inner world. Her ideological focus is color as an object of personal fascination, related to natural phenomena, lighting conditions and their changes. In the paintings she works with her memory as an inspirational and visionary chanel. She want to point out everyday experience. She focus on the most basic elements of the world experience: our position of present in the the specific time and place. In every painting, she try to think as if it were an empty format, as if she start from the beginning. However the experience is still significant here. She want to develop all these ideas both in figurative and abstract themes through paintings.
