From Cycle Wave – Iz cikla Val, 2010, acrylic on canvas, 30 x 50 cm Painting from Cycle Sea, action painting made in technic of dripping, acrylic on canvas. Paintings from Cycle: Sea and Wave (2007-2010), were created as a result of constant research, contemplation and observation of the waves, motion, light, sound, atmosphere and space of the sea. Each painting is only a part, the angle of view or a note that arose from gradual scaling of memorized experiences and visual perceptions which reveal through the process of painting. While working on these paintings I have been mostly interested in the movement and undulation. The paintings from this cycle I made with numerous different techniques -drizzling, spilling, taking away color and other – just to get movment of the sea water.

The painting is for me an expression through colour which I use as a main medium. What interests me the most about painting are different approaches and corresponding techniques but its true significance lies in the process itself, in the movement that begins with the installation of objects in the space and evolves through numerous phases/stages of upgrade. In the process of painting I am aware of having to share my work with someone else- a spectator. That’s why I’m also interested in the optical system and giving a spectator the opportunity to be a part of the process. I can say that light and reflexion are present in all my works from different cycles like Forest (1996-2001), Reflexion (1997-2006), Grass (2002-2006), Flowers (from 2006 onward), Sea and Waves (2007-2010), Figures (from 2010 onward) as a cohesive thread.
